Exciting news. West Kirby-based, international artist, and our friend at The Wirral Way magazine, Daniel Meakin will be headlining a new exhibition at the  Startyard venue on the waterfront in Birkenhead. ​

This inspiring exhibition brings together a group of talented artists, each with their own unique style and story to tell.

Daniel Meakin – With 35 years of executing and selling his paintings internationally, Daniel creates stunning mixed-media pieces blending contour, colour, collage, and composition to form imaginative, often fantastical visual stories.

Other featured artists include: Clare Wrench (landscape artist), Derek Prescott, (acrylic on canvas), Gary Di Franco (layered acrylics), Olena Kosheva (watercolour & mixed media),  Wendy Woo (sketches to upcycling), and Fai McCabe (transforming the Rubik's Cube, vibrant, intricate works).

Join Hoylake Evangelical Church and get into the spirit of the season at their annual Craft Fair at Hoylake Parade Community Centre on Friday evening 28th November, 7.30 pm- 9.30 pm.

Completely FREE with craft stalls, drinks and refreshments. There will also be a Christmas talk taken from the Bible. 

Saturday 29th  November | 1- 4pm | St Luke's Church, Market Street, Hoylake

Support local, small, independent businesses and pick up some amazing gifts for Christmas (or yourself). Stalls will include many local names such as Joalliere, The Eco Shopper, etc., and will include skincare, gifts, jewellery, candles, paper crafts, pre-loved clothes and much more. Plus, there will be refreshments available and a children's craft club with Positivity CIC. It's far more than a fair... it's a day out for the family.​

The RNLI Christmas Stall will be at West Kirby Concourse with a range of festive RNLI gifts, souvenirs and stocking fillers 

From Christmas cards and stationery to homeware and toys, every purchase will help Hoylake and West Kirby Lifeboat crews to save lives at sea this winter.

Can't make it? Don't forget the RNLI has a gift shop at Hoylake Lifeboat Station, too. Open Thursday to Sunday 11 am-3 pm. 

Saturday 6th  December | 11am - 2pm | Hoylake Lifeboat Station, Hoylake

Hoylake RNLI will be welcoming a very special visitor from the North Pole on Saturday 6 December for a magical festive event. Santa is coming!

Father Christmas will be stopping in at Hoylake RNLI lifeboat station and inviting children and families to join him for a memorable experience alongside the charity’s volunteer lifesavers.

Young visitors will have the chance to meet Father Christmas and take a photograph with him. They'll also receive an exclusive RNLI goodie bag as a gift to take home.

Bring a letter for Father Christmas to post back to the North Pole – providing an email address so he can reply personally to each one.

Plus, you'll also have a chance to see Hoylake RNLI’s all-weather Shannon class lifeboat ‘Edmund Hawthorn Micklewood’ and Inshore Rescue Hovercraft ‘Hurley Spirit’. What a day!

Packed with world foods, comfort foods, and good food - there'll be something to your "taste" and mood.

Friday 26th December | BOXING DAY | 12 noon | Hoylake Lifeboat Station, Hoylake

It wouldn't be Boxing Day without the Slater Cup Tug-of-War between Hoylake Lifeboat and Hoylake Sailing Club. Great fun and it also raised over £2,000 for the lifesaving work of the local RNLI last year. Putting the fun into fundraising.

This year will be poignant as  Terry Slater - who's husband founded the Slater Cup and who presented it last year at the incredible age of 101 - sadly passed away this year. So, it will not only be a great fundraiser it will also be a great legacy for her and her family.​

Tuesday 16th December | 7.30pm | St Hildeburgh's Church, Hoylake

Caldy Rugby Club’s Off Pitch Choir are back for their annual fundraising Christmas carol concert. An evening of festive songs and sing-alongs.

The concert is free with donations supporting Hoylake and West Kirby RNLI. Refreshments will be available with thanks to the Woodlands Residential Care Home.​

Saturday 20th December | 10am-2pm | Heswall Hall, Heswall.

From vegetables, artisanal bread, honey, Cider, yoghurts and Gluten-free bakes to Argentinian Empanadas, and seasonal wreaths. Pick up some last minute Christmas food and gifts at Heswall Farmers' Market. 10am-2pm.
